I. DISCLAIMER.

This game is freeware. So, feel free to distribute it, as long
as it is distributed for free and this file is included.

II. WHAT'S THE STORY?

Ben Hastings, a private investigator, has a new job: to find
the testament of Simon Hunter's recently died uncle in his
mansion. As Hastings proceeds on his assignment, he uncovers
the dark mystery of the old house.

III. HOW DO I PLAY THE GAME?

The House That Ate My Soul is played with via keyboard
only. Use the cursor buttons to move the character around.
There are indicators at the bottom of the screen showing you, what
buttons you can press to interact with the things, where you are
standing. Pressing the digits will use your inventory items with
these things. You can combine items by holding down LEFT SHIFT
and then pressing the two digits of the items you want to combine.
Pressing F5 will bring up the GUI for saving games, F7 that for
loading. Holding down LEFT SHIFT and then pressing ESCAPE will
exit the game.

IV. THE GRAPHICS/INTERACE/PUZZLES/DIALOGUES/SOUNDS/MUSIC/STORY ARE/IS BULLSHIT.

I know. Since this game was made in 22 days, there are many flaws,
and equally many things are missing, e.g. more things to look at,
more responses, more animations etc. But keep in mind, that I made
this game all by myself, and that I am an amateur game maker. There
probably won't be an enhanced version, since I now -- after two
MAGS games -- want to make a game, for which I can have as much
time as I want. I already have some ideas flying through my mind.

V. I LIKED/DISLIKED THE GAME AND WANT TO TELL THE AUTHOR WHAT I THINK.

You can send me an e-mail to maximion@gmx.net or send my a PM on the
AGS forums. Comments, questions and bugreports are all welcome,
though I probably won't correct the bugs (unless they make the game
unbeatable).

VI. WHY IS THE .EXE-FILE NAMED THTFMD.EXE?

Good question, since the abbreviation of my game's name is THTAMS.
However, the title once was "The House That Forged my Dreams", but
was renamed after I changed and modified the story.

Thanks for downloading!
Enjoy your playing time!

cheers
